  Surface temperature measurement uses optical effects or direct contact to detect the surface temperature of a technical component. Under suitable process conditions, it is possible to infer the temperature of the medium inside a tube from the temperature of the tube’s surface with sufficient accuracy. This method causes lower installation costs and fewer disruptions of the process (flow restrictions, risks of pollution) as opposed to invasive temperature measurement.
